Lessons in Leadership
I am grateful for the opportunity to speak and attend several valuable leadership development programs the past two months.
October 21: The Annual Ascend North Texas Inspiring Across Generations (IAG)Conference
I was excited to moderate a CEO Fireside Chat with Sonah Shah, CEO of The Texas Tribune, and Chris Yang, President & CEO of Toyota Connected North America. They generously shared their stories and advice on authentic leadership, which boiled down to relationships, building winning teams, taking risks, and not being afraid to collaborate and ask for input from peers and colleagues. This conference also featured great speakers who shared purpose-filled careers and secrets to advancement.
October 27: AICPA Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop (ASLW)
I shared my coaching advice on How to Handle Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions with over 100 college students interested in entering the accounting profession. Their questions on what to do when you are new and navigating these challenging situations show that they are thinking ahead and preparing to be inclusive leaders and allies for one another.
Nov 12-14: AICPA & CIMA Global Women’s Leadership Summit
I loved sharing my most popular keynote on The Power of Wishing Out Loud; Relationships, Reputation, and Requests for Real Life Impact to over 300 CPA women leaders in-person and live-streamed. We shared resources to gain clarity on their strengths and tips for investing in trusting meaningful relationships to grow their leadership reputation and impact.
Nov 13-16: SHRM Linkage Women in Leadership Institute
It was an honor to participate virtually while supporting a cohort of senior women leaders from Oracle with group coaching for two hours each day to capture the highlights. It put the awareness into action as a group. Learning and leading together refueled me with the power of coaching and leadership development to see how the women bonded and supported one another throughout the week.
